为了通过电视剧文化内容持续广范推动韩流、地区文化和电视剧文化，激活地区经济及提高广播影响内容产业的竞争力，自2006年开始举办。每年给优秀演员颁奖韩国电视剧赏, 还通过举办电视剧OST音乐会、介绍电视剧拍摄地等电视剧内容，向市民提供丰富的看点。
