Situated in the southwest of Gyeongnam, Jinju borders Changwon City and Haman-gun on the east, Hadong-gun on the west, Sacheon and Goseong-gun on the south, and Sancheong-gun and Uiryeong-gun on the north.
The Gyeongjeonseon Railway Line and Namhae Expressway connect Yeongnam and Honam (east-west) and the Tongyeong-Jinju- Daejeon Jungbu Expressway passes through vertically (south-north) with Sacheon Airport nearby.
