아버지- 아들의 첫 번째 영웅, 딸의 첫 사랑.

"아버지, 내 약속 잘 지켰지 예. 이만하면 내 잘 살았지 예. 근데 내 진짜 힘들었거든 예.“ (영화, 국제시장)

☺ 고대 그리스의 비극시인 에우리피데스는 “고귀(高貴)한 아버지가 고귀한 자식을 만든다.”
“Noble fathers have noble children.” Euripedes (c. 480 – c. 406 BC) - a tragedian of classical Athens. 그 아버지에 그 아들이라 합니다.

☺ 타히티 출신의 미국 영화 촬영감독인 (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)-내일을 향해 쏴라) C. Hall은 “아버지, 당신은 어디에 계시든, 당신은 떠나셨지만 결코 잊을 수 없습니다.” 그의 아버지 James Hall은 pilot이자 Mutiny on the Bounty (바운티 호의 반란)의  공동 작가이다. 
“Dad, wherever you are, you are gone but you will never be forgotten.” (Conrad Hall (1926 – 2003) - an American cinematographer from Papeete, Tahiti)

☺ 미국의 농구 선수, 대학농구 감독이었던 J. Valvano는 “저의 아버지는 누구든 다른 사람에게도 줄 수 있었던 가장 큰 선물을 주셨지요. 그것은 아들에 대한 믿음(信賴)이었습니다.”

☺ 미국의 작가이자 상원 의원이었던 J. DeMint는 “이 세상에 가장 위대한 직함은 부모이요, 가장 큰 축복은 어머니 아버지를 부를 수 있는 부모님을 가진 것입니다.”

☺ 미국의 작가 C. B. Kelland는 “아버지는 내게 어떻게 살아라,는 말씀은 없으셨고, 그가 사시는 모습을 지켜보도록 했습니다.” 사표(師表)를 보여 주셨지요. -  德爲人表(덕위인표) : 덕망이 높아 사람들의 사표가 되다. 百世之師(백세지사) : 후세에까지 사표가 되어 존경받을 만한 훌륭한 인물. 萬夫之望(만부지망) : 모든 사람들이 우러러보다.

☺ 침례교 목사로 Harry Truman부터 B. Obama대통령의 영적 조언자이기도 한 B. Graham은 “좋은 아버지는 이 세상에서 가장 이름 없고, 칭찬도 받지 못하고, 눈에 띄지도 않지만, 가장 가치 있는 자산 중 하나입니다.”

☺ 미국의 농구 선수로  slam dunk champion인 N. Robinson은 “내 아버지께서 말씀하시길, ‘겸손하고, 누구보다도 열심히 해야 해’, 어머님께서는 ‘항상 너다워’ 하느님만 나를 판단하신다고 항상 일러 줍니다.”

☺ 호주 출신 배우 H. Jackman은 “집에 오면 딸이 쪼르르 현관으로 달려와서 와락 안아 줍니다. 그러면 그날 있었던 모든 것이 사르르 녹아 버려요.”

☺ Ralph Lauren의 둘째인 David는 “나의 아버지는 나의 최고의 친구이자, 아버지, 그리고 사장님이십니다. 내가 뭔가 재미있는 일을 하면 그도 좋아하셔서 상상이상 3배 느낌을 줍니다.”

☺ 인도 출신 IT 기업 CEO인 N. Jain은 “아버지가 된다는 것은 의심의 여지없이 나의 가장 큰 성취이고, 자부심이요, 영감의 원천입니다. 부성(父性) 무조건적인 사랑을 가르쳐 주었고, 되돌려 주는 것의 중요성을 강화시켰고 그리고 어떻게 더 나은 사람이 되는지를 가르쳐 주었습니다.”
