此地是被指定为天然纪念物第395号的“嘉津里鸟足迹和恐龙脚印化石地”的发现之地。 在举世罕见的化石地上建造了全球第三座展馆，并用作旅游资源。该馆设有化石文物展览馆、自然史展览馆、科学展览馆、昆虫标本展览馆、天体展览馆、天体投影馆、3D影像馆和科学实验室。参观展馆时可以学习和体验到以人与自然、环境、科学为主题的丰富有趣的内容。
