Daebongjeong Pavilion located behind Jinju Hyanggyo on the ridge of Bibongsan Mountain, was referred to as Daebongsan because people thought Bibongsan Mountain resembled a great phoenix. Because of the name, it is said that the pavilion offers the auspicious energy of a great phoenix to hikers and Jinju citizens visiting Bibongsan Mountain.
