Covering 70% of silk products produced in Korea, Jinju has emerged as one of the world's five top silk production regions with a 100 years of tradition. With 50 silk‐weaving and 4 dyeing companies, the city is the home of Korean silk.

In 1988, the Korea Silk Research Institute was established here in Jinju. With the joint brands 'Silkian' and 'Jinjugira' (1998), we have penetrated into overseas markets and expanded domestic distribution routes. In 2009, the brand name was changed to   , which was approved by Korean Intellectual Property Office through the registration of local commercial design. For the innovative development of silk industry, we constructed Silk Industrial Complex and Silk Industry Innovation Center.

Jinju Silk guarantees a soft feeling and refined and elegant colors ofthanks to its superior dyeing technique. Thus, it has gained a high reputation among silk lovers all over the world.
